These developmental, bonding hearts, also known as scented hearts, are one of many beneficial tools for your baby in the NICU. Leaving a scented heart with your baby can quickly facilitate growth, comfort and reduced stress while also giving off the scent of the people they love most, their parents!(: Switching out scent hearts each time you arrive to the NICU will not only give your baby the fresh scent of you, but with the second heart you’ll be left with the scent of your baby which has been known to increase breast milk production and lower stress levels in parents.
YOU are the most important part of your baby’s life and we know that you all cannot be at bedside 24/7 because life continues on around you even with your little one in the NICU. These hearts are a reminder that you are ALWAYS there and you will always be there, no matter what. <3
Your purchase will include a set of 2 hearts, you can chose the prints you prefer but all prints used are relatively neutral and baby friendly! Wear 1 heart to bed or throughout the day tucked into your bra or shirt (close to your skin) and have Dad safety pin the second heart onto the inside of his shirt so his scent is also able to transfer. When you leave, leave one heart in the isolette or crib with your baby and take the other one home with you & repeat while also enjoying the scent of your little one.
Each NICU heart was made with love by both myself and my Gigi (Grandma) and each has been made in a preemie-approved environment free of smoke or heavy scents. Each heart is 5″x5″ – 6″x6″. Wash before use & as needed with baby friendly detergent. All hearts have been made with 100% cotton flannel.
